S’Argamassa Palace Suite Hotel

How different can two hotels owned by the same person be? Some time ago, Lucas Prats Ribas − the man behind Can Lluc − also acquired S’Argamassa Palace, a slightly less luxurious, more modest but very clean four-star hotel located between the coastal town of Santa Eulalia and Es Canar, near a pine forest − though what you’ll mostly notice is Cala Pada, the beach just around the corner. Visitors can simply bring a towel to lie on the beach or rent luxurious sunbeds with parasols. A small beach bar provides food and drinks, while the long wooden pier and watersport options offer additional entertainment.

Location

The hotel is built around a central swimming pool, but a small path beside it leads directly to the beach itself and several resorts. For example, those wanting to walk to the ultra-chic – and extremely pricey – Nikki Beach, in order to better appreciate the much more reasonable cocktail and menu prices at S’Argamassa Palace Suite Hotel, only need to stroll about ten minutes along Cala Pada. It’s a fun way to still enjoy the refined dishes and drinks available there, but in moderation, while saving quite a bit of money back at the hotel.

Rooms

S’Argamassa Palace sets itself apart by offering around 30 spacious suites, all equipped with a kitchenette, balcony or terrace, and contemporary furniture in a beach-inspired color scheme that includes touches of beige. The sofa in our living area is more of a petrol green, and we spot turquoise accents here and there.

The interior has been renovated, though some areas still feel slightly old-fashioned – or at least, that’s true for the style of decor, because everything is in excellent condition and very clean. There’s no sign whatsoever of wear and tear or poor maintenance.

We are a group of three, but thanks to the clever layout of our suite, we never once feel like we’re sleeping too close to one another. There’s more than enough space for everyone, which means our privacy is more or less guaranteed.

Despite the modern comforts, some elements—like travertine tiles and traditional hairdryers – still evoke a touch of nostalgia. The Grand Suites even come with their own hammock and terrace, while the Preferable Suites offer higher balconies with panoramic views of the surrounding forest.

The Courtyard

The pool is the beating heart of the hotel. Surrounded by green trees, colorful plants, and comfortable sun loungers, the space radiates a relaxed, Mediterranean vibe.

A small kids’ pool and a mosaic pattern on the pool floor add to the charm. The wellness area, though modest, includes a whirlpool, sauna, and a small gym, while a mini-golf course adds a playful touch.

Amenities

The fact that so much is available without feeling like you’re stuck in an enclosed resort – alongside the many nearby bars and restaurants – makes the price-to-quality ratio here very appealing.

Restaurant

In addition to relaxation, the hotel also offers a taste of gastronomy. The Mediterranean restaurant, complete with a lobster tank, serves refined à la carte dishes. For those preferring something more casual, the lobby bar offers snacks like burgers and hot dogs, along with an extensive cocktail menu. Breakfast, which is included in your stay, can be enjoyed either in the elegant dining room or out on the terrace.

S’Argamassa Palace is a solid choice for those looking for a good balance between timeless charm, affordability, and location – offering plenty to do both inside and just outside the hotel without needing to call an Uber.

Conclusion

S’Argamassa Palace is an excellent option for those who want to stay by the beach without having to spend an entire wallet’s worth of money on ultra-expensive design and luxury. Pretty great!
